Variety in collaboration with the Noreen Fraser Foundation, will honor comedian Russell Brand with the first-ever, 'Variety's Power of Comedy Award" for his contributions on behalf of Women's cancer research.

Variety's Power of Comedy will benefit the Noreen Fraser Foundation's "Men for Women Now" initiative, a program featuring prominent men highlighting the importance of early detection for the prevention of women's cancers.

Using humor is critical to the mission of "Men for Women Now", as humor not only serves to break the ice on a subject that can be uncomfortable but also reminds us all of the healing power of laughter.
